Here is a wonderful early Derby English hand painted porcelain dish, circa 1800-1815.
The dish has a white background and is lavishly decorated on the rim and around the body with gilt swirls and leaves.
In the centre of the dish is a hand-painted Italian scene showing a figure walking on a path, another two talking in a copse of trees, one in a sailboat and buildings overlooking the water. The hand painting is beautiful quality.
The underside of the dish shows in red paint the Derby maker’s mark and “In Italy”. The mark dates this piece between 1800-1815
The dish measures 11 inches long x 8 1/2 inches wide and is in excellent condition.
